Library Visit, Then Held at Gunpoint

I found the article “Library visit Then Held at Gunpoint” very captivating. Tells the story of his sons encounter with an aggressive yale security officer to shine further light on the misuse of police power and authority. Charles Blow made sure every detailed was told clearly in the article. He also made sure that his sons point of view and words were inn this article. One of the things that I found very fascinating is that Charles blow said “The stop is not the problem: the method of the stop is the problem”. Specifically saying that the way the police stopped his son was the problem Charles didn’t mind that they stopped his son because he looked like a suspect of the crime he also didn’t mind that they asked Charles son questions. It was just the way the police stopped him by pulling out weapons. However what also stud out was that Charles blow said something deep with a meaning that maybe people can relate “Triggers cannot be unpulled. Bullets cannot be called back “With him saying that it’s like with one little thing wrong that the police people have done with just pulling out the gun would be bad enough. The worst would be actually pulling the trigger with that cannot be undone. Foe example another way of putting it is like you cannot bring someone back from the dead. Last but not least the best of the best that Charles blow said was “We would share stories about encounters with the police in which our lives, hung in the balance intergenerational stories of joining the inglorious club”. For instance that means that not only has his son lived that frightening experience, but he has also experienced that situation before. It’s really not pleasing to say that you and your son can relate on a topic like that because in any parents mind you don’t want your child going through that. Throughout all the article I loved how Charles made his statement and actually put his sons words in it also his side of the story overall Charles made his statement as a concerned parent on what he felt on the way the police at yale approached his son.

                                             Teaching you about Volleyball

Well there’s not really much I am good at, but the only thing I am kind of good at is playing volleyball. That may be something I can teach you about. Volleyball is a sport more like not letting the ball drop the floor. In volleyball you can play with as many people as you want as long as the teams are even. But playing more game type six people play on court. Each player has there on thing to do on court. For instance the front row the two side people are your hitters and the one in middle is your setter as for the back row you have the two side people that have to hustle for the ball when it comes as for the back middle cover the setter spot. That way every player knows what to do and has their own spot on court. As on a real volleyball game the points go up top twenty-five. If both teams match the same number for example twenty-three and twenty-three you have to add an extra three points to win. The court does have out boundaries so if the other team hits it out it’s automatically your point on your team.  In a game each team get at least three time outs after those three time outs are done you get no more unless there’s and injury or so. Apart from that the game should be fair and square but there is a little twist to it, if it happens to be that on team wins a game and so does the other team then they have to go on to a third game. Which in the third game they the point will be only going up to fifteen and whoever wins the third game wins all the game.  Not saying that volleyball is easy you just got to get the basics down and you’ll get the hang of it.

About me

Clarisssa Frias

                                                          About Me

Hello my name is Clarissa Frias. I am from Austin Texas born and raised. In my household in Austin lives my mom, dad and me. We also have pet’s one dog and a turtle. I moved down to College Station to attend Blinn College. I currently live with two cousins and a family friend. Moving down to College Station/ Bryan was a big change for me. Coming from a city and trying to adapt to country was a little difficult for me. It wasn’t just the change from city to country it was also leaving my family behind. My family and I are very close so leaving them behind was kind of hard, but I knew it would be the best to further my education. I am currently taking my basics at Blinn College. My career goal is to become a veterinary, it may take time to become a veterinarian but, I plan to work hard for what I want. Aside from school I also work. I currently work at kohl’s and my position is a part time. It’s tough for me to maintain working and going to school but I try my best. This semester I decide to only take two classes to focus more on my classes individually. Especially with Reading 0304, reading is one of my toughest subjects out of all of them. So for this semester for reading class my goal is to put my all into it to pass. It’s hard for me to focus due to that I really dislike reading. To be honest the only reason I read is to learn the subject from the textbook. Putting that aside my academic goal for this semester is to pass with good grades and learn a little more than what I learned last semester. So that’s a little about me and my academic goals.
